If you’re investing in a house share then you do have to put the tenants first, after all they’re going to be the ones living in your property. House shares often involved individual moving in and out, perhaps on short term or rolling contracts, and neutral colours will ensure there’s a blank canvas for the new tenant, whether that’s a ‘he’ or a ‘she’.
Plain white walls can give a room a bright clean look and it’s a colour that’s certainly not going to cause any arguments. You don’t necessarily have to go for plain walls throughout the entire house, but for bedrooms neutral plain colours are important. A green, blue or red colour can be a nice touch in the communal areas, but always think about the types of individuals you’re going to be getting in, you can then make a more informed decision.
Shared houses are not always the easiest to maintain and at least with white walls it’ easy to see when an individual hasn’t cleaned or has caused damage to walls or doors.
