Selling Your House for a Good Price

When you are selling your  house, it’s in your best interests to make sure its value remains as high as possible. Of course, you can do this by adding to its size – extensions, garage conversions etc. can all make a big difference. However, they also have a high initial cost and are time-consuming, stressful and difficult to complete. Here are some other ways to add value without the hassle of structural additions:

  1. Ensure your outdoor area is appealing. As well as making sure it’s neat and presentable, you could add in awnings, pergolas or even a glass room to make it feel like an inviting space to be in.
  2. Keep everything in good working order. Don’t let people see damage to your property – for example, if you’ve had a leak, get the damage fixed straight away before potential buyers begin asking questions about damp and mould.
  3. Make sure your house exterior is presentable. Clear your driveway, power wash the patio, have your fascias painted and ensure there are no problems with the drainage systems.
  4. Keep the décor neutral. Loud colours and bold decoration might be to your taste, but they won’t be to everybody’s. Make sure your home appeals to as many people as possible across the board by using light, airy colours. This will also help to make it feel more spacious.
